VisitsNone – Church now a dwelling

The church of St Helen in North Ormsby was declared redundant in 1980 and was sold for conversion to a private dwelling. There is a socket stone containing a stump of shaft in the churchyard, 10m south of the nave.

It has not been possible to arrange access to survey this cross and neither AP, nor me and HH, have managed to contact the owners. Thus, currently, we have only Davies’s observations to go on: The socket stone is 0.61 x 0.56m by 0.20m high and the stump of  shaft is c. 0.28 x 0.23m by 0.9m high.
