St Nicholas, Lutton, is a superb pre-Reformation brick church (restored 1859), which presumably had a medieval predecessor.

There was a small socket stone on the left hand side (W) of the door which was photographed by Hilary in 1989. Recent photographs of the church show it is no longer there, so a trip to see where it has been moved to would be useful.

It is assumed that the stone was not in situ.

There is a very fine war memorial in the form of a standing cross on the pavement just to the south of the church (Lutton Lowgate).

Hilary photographed the socket stone to the left of the church doorway in 1989, but more recent photos show that it has been moved.
