We failed to find the cross base noted in the HER. (A medieval cross base is located in St Margaret’s churchyard. See photographs GP:AO.65.40,4. {1}) AP also failed to find it and Davies does not mention it.
We did notice an interesting stone immediately to the east of the south porch – See photos – This looks much more like a font than a cross base. But we could not move it, to see whether it, or the stone(s) below, were anything to do with a cross.
